I made this rifle in 1973 in the style of some made in Wythe County,
Virginia in the first quarter of the 19th century. The bird finial box
with the hinge lapped on the outside is often associated with the
Honaker family and originals are known in both iron and brass. Double
pipes and step toe stock profile are also found on Honaker rifles.
Siler lock and Bob Paris barrel. This barrel was browned in keeping
with the later period of the rifle.
